What they do
Spring inserts and helper components add load capacity to a vehicle’s factory suspension. In an air spring kit, urethane pieces locate the air bag, carry load when the bag is deflated, and protect the assembly from metal-to-metal contact. In coil applications, an insert sits between the coils to firm the spring under load without changing unloaded ride height.
Why cast urethane
A spring insert lives in a harsh place: constant compression cycles, road salt, oil, heat from the exhaust, and impacts from debris. Rubber takes a set and cracks. Cast polyurethane returns to shape after years of cycles, shrugs off oil and ozone, and can be formulated to the exact stiffness the kit designer wants.
What we bring to it
Titan Works has cast spring inserts for leading aftermarket air suspension brands for years. We know which durometers hold up under a loaded half-ton pickup, how much draft a tall insert needs to demold cleanly, and how to hit the dimensions that matter for fit against a bag or a coil.
Typical specifications
- Hardness: 70 to 95 Shore A depending on load
- Formulation: ether-based for moisture resistance in under-vehicle service
- Color: black standard
- Inserts: molded-in steel plates or studs when the kit calls for them
- Volumes: production programs with scheduled releases
